Upstairs 'kid' Bathroom

These are my wonderful stripes. I was a little worried about doing them because it was my first time, but everything went great. I have learned a few lessons. For example, if you are going to use a really dark blue get primer put in the paint. I had to use five coats which made it tricky to peel the tape off.

These flowers and my shower curtain inspired the whole bathroom. One day it just clicked what I wanted to do. I am starting on my downstairs bathroom, I can't wait until I can actually find time to start painting. Jane makes everything a little harder to get done. I still have to get my wood border up between the stripes and the solid, but I will probably wait to do it until we can put the border in the downstairs bathroom at the same time.

Jane's Room

These pictures have been a long time coming.

I figured I would start out with my favorite room in the house, which is Jane's.
I had someone come in and paint the flowers and they could not have turned out better.

This is actually Derek's old dresser as a kid. We took off the multi-colored knobs, and rebuilt a few drawers but we love it now. That poor picture has been sitting there for months now. We will get it up someday.

This is my favorite bag ever. I got it at the baby shower and have never used it because I don't want to ruin it. I thought the flower hangers worked perfect.

I have had so much fun putting Jane's room together. I want to add stripes to it, but only if our next baby is a girl. Not pregnant, just planning.

Our April

This month has gone by so fast! Nothing super special happened just a bunch of little things to make it a great month. Our little Jane turned 11 months. She is now walking...when she feels like it, eating everything we do (goodbye nursing), and is super sassy. Just thought I would post some pictures of what we have been doing!

Due to the recent fact we just bought a rifle Derek and his siblings went out to a shooting range and had a little fun. The gun Derek is shooting is his brothers. So nice to have siblings who still have a disposable income and can buy expensive guns for us to play with.

I had to watch Jane and my cousin, but my hot sister was able to go with them and try out a few.

Our little girl finally got her first two teeth in. Still patiently awaiting the rest.

Jane eating her first powdered doughnut. I think this child eats way to much sugar for her own good. She could not get enough.

We had an awesome XBOX party for Derek's 26th birthday party. It was fun to see our old friends and show off the house we have been working so hard to put together.

Derek and Jane spending some fun Daddy-daughter time cleaning out the pool. This is one of the only ways we can contain her while she is around the water. She loves to put her feet in and kick the water everywhere. As soon as it heats up we will be in the pool all the time.

Every time we go to my Mom's house Jane spends some time with Grandpa out in the garden. He is trying with all his might to get her to like radishes. Not going great so far.

This was my crazy idea for the upstairs "kid" bathroom. It was my first time doing stripes so I was a little nervous. Derek's brother Devin was coming into town and this is his bathroom so I was on a crunch to get it done. Everything worked out great! I also have lots of paint left over so let me know if you want a few stripes in your house.

Jane playing the piano at my Mom's house. She loves playing our piano anytime she can get in that room.

We has such a wonderful Easter. Derek's family tradition is to hide the baskets and mine is to put it out on the couch. Instead of arguing about it, we decided the first person to get up got to do it their way. Surprise...I was up with Jane and won. Next year we will hide the baskets so Jane can go and find them.

What a DAY!

Where do I even start. Derek woke up this morning at 2:30 with the most intense headache and severe pain behind his left eye. He was up for 15 minutes before he started throwing up. This occurred the rest of the night every 20 minutes or so. We got a very startled Jane out of bed and headed to the ER. My wonderful sister Megann came and got Jane while I waited with Derek. They did a CT scan and found nothing unusual. They believe that he had an infection from him sinuses. They gave him a shot of morphine and some meds to stop the throwing up. We got to my mom's house around 7:00 am. Derek went straight to bed there, and I fit in a little nap before I had to go to the doctor's because I have mastitis for the fourth time (I am so done with nursing). Thank goodness my doctor just called in a prescription. We are home now and Derek is doing better. We do have to follow up with a nuro to get an MRI, but we are not to worried. We are just hoping for a better tomorrow.

Happy 26!!

The love of my life turned twenty six and it wouldn't be complete unless I put tons of pictures of him up and wrote a little about him. Here is a little time line of Derek.

Just plain look'n good!

A Taylor will always find a way to play video games and take care of a baby.

Derek and Jane at his Sargent promotion.

When Derek and I were in mutual together one thing everyone knew about him was how much he loved candy...well that is still very true to this day. No need to make cookies or cakes when Derek can have pure sugar through peeps, sweet tarts, skittles, and anything else you can think of.

Derek Loves Loves Loves his little girl. Jane has made this whole man mush all together. I know he loves me, but there is something very sweet about their relationship.

Although he is only 26, Derek is getting patches of gray hairs. My solution is to start coloring his hair, but he would not hear of it. Becoming gray is distinguished and he will have it no other way.

Video games are his perfect way of relaxing. Friday night is his night to play as late as he wants, and then sleep in. Call it his little treat, but when the siblings are all on it is a little heaven on earth. The man needs a break sometime.

I am so thankful for this man. He has made me the happiest woman in the world and I can't wait to spend forever with him.

Happy Birthday Sweetie....we love you!

The Arizona Biltmore

For our anniversary (now almost a month ago) Derek planned a surprise getaway for a night. I told him I could only be gone one night from Jane. SO he decided to do it in style since we only had one night to get everything in. We kissed Jane good-bye and left her in the good care of my sisters. Much to my surprise we went to the Arizona Biltmore, a beautiful resort, for our special night. There were all the pictures they had on their website. I took our camera but when I turned it on the battery went dead. The first picture is of the lobby. This place was amazing. I almost felt out of place.

This is a picture of their super ridiculous fancy restaurant that we ate at for dinner. I wish I could have told you everything we ate, but I couldn't pronounce it let alone remember it. Derek had a steak and I had the pork loin. Then for dessert....

We ate this, a chocolate souffle! It really was amazing...and for $20 it should have been.

The next morning Derek scheduled us an outside couple massage under a cabana. It was the most relaxing thing we have ever done together. I was a little worried about the weather, but no need...the table was heated. We had a great breakfast and lunch at the resort too, the food was incredible here. Jane was teething the whole time we were gone so her wonderful aunts had to deal with a grumpy, sick baby the whole time. Bless their hearts because without them we couldn't have gone and it was a much needed break. It was nice for it to be just the two of us again....even if it was for just one night.

saying goodbyes

Tonight I went to the hospital to say my final good bye to my grandpa. He had a stroke right before Jane was born, and has never fully recovered. Today his heart stopped and after 29 minutes of cpr he finally came back, but even worse than he has been. It was so hard to say goodbye knowing that I would never see him again in this life. I wish he was able to see Jane before he leaves, but I asked him tonight to watch over the other ones until they come. Tonight I cried and held his hand, and wished that one more time he could give me a big bear hug. How I love the plan of salvation and knowing that I would see him again after I left the room. The tears are hard, but the Savior did so much for us that the pain becomes lighter. Tomorrow morning they are going to take him off the respirator and let him go. He was a good man, and will soon be in a much happier and healthier place. bye grandpa.
